Hello!
I have been confused about the categories re: residence applications. I intend to apply for residence extension soon but I’m not so sure if I can apply under category 2?
It says:
Institutions that fall under any of the following: Organizations/ individuals whose withholding tax amount is 10 million yen or more in the total table of withholding for employment income in the total table of legal records such as withholding slips for employment income for the previous year. Institutions that have received approval to apply for use of the online residence application system (excluding institutions in categories 1 and 4)
I’m pretty sure the company I work for doesn’t fall under category 1. My company paid more than 10 million yen in employee salaries the previous year and earned more than that. I’m confused about “organizations/individiduals”. Should I be paid more than 10 million yen as well for me to apply under category 2? Or does my company earning and paying more than 10 million yen enough?
Also, does my company need to apply for the use of online residence application? But Foreigners (non-visitor, non-long-term residents) can use the system directly, right?
