I thought the show was fantastic. I enjoyed every match, the presentation it was great to see a packed arena for US NJPW show. It felt big and enjoyed every moment.
Whilst it would have been Great to have more of a build, Narita vs Suzuki is exactly what it should have been. Good win for Narita to get with no help.
Loved the women’s title match. AZM is kinda like Ishii has a great match with everyone, everytime and sticks to a lot of the same formula. Vaquer will become a big star very soon. She has the look, charisma and a unique demographic for wrestling. I am very happy to have her carry women’s wrestling on Strong.
Tag 4 way was fun and good to finally see TMDK finally champs.
I didn’t really enjoy Ali vs Hiromu too much schtik with Daryl. But they still got some cool action in there. We will need to see Ali pop up a little more after that win. Will see who he takes on at Resurgence.
Sabre and Riddle was good. Good to get the belt of Riddle but didn’t want it back on Zack. Would prefer he drops it quick to Cobb who would do great with the TV title. Then Zack can win the G1 please.
Nemeth vs Ishii was as advertised but shouldn’t have just been for the title. They could make a story out of it between Ishii and Tanahashi.
Now the main event. Firstly, good match. There are many worse outsiders to win the belt. It sucks for Naito but he got his big moment a decent reign. His matches haven’t been exceptional it seems like his body is really slowing down at times. He will probably get the belt back in the autumn to still be in the Dome main event.
Moxley will be around enough to defend the title. We have two International shows on top of things. His reign probably won’t go past Forbidden Door. Unless they want him in the Dome main event.
Moreover, there are already stories brewing with Narita and Umino which should elevate both. There is no need for the excessive doom and gloom.
Upcoming shows: Dontaku, Resurgence, Dominion and Forbidden Door. He only has to be back in Japan for two shows and hopefully for a couple Road to shows and maybe even All Together.
