1. In this case, you can remove “goen” from the sentence and get the meaning. The words following goen are meant to be the translation/explanation of it

   Goen means relationship, connection to something, ties so here they translate it as “each and every encounter”

   Humans stand alone so you should cherish your all your connections, interactions, ties, encounters 🙂

   it’s more common to write it as just En, which I imagine has lots of stuff written about it in english

   ご縁を見つめたい something like “cherish the connections we have with others”

   ‘Relationship’ is a part of ‘ご縁’ , but not to be equal.
   I don’t know the English word for this word, but I think it has a similar meaning to fate.

   This is one of the fundamental doctrines advocated by the Buddha after he attained enlightenment, and is the very content of enlightenment. It was believed that ‘phenomena in this world are the result of the ご縁 of causes and conditions. Everything is based on ご縁.’
   It’s not about ‘good or bad relationship/connection’ , but everything related to one’s own environment, seemingly unrelated phenomena, and the very existence of oneself are all ‘ご縁’.
   There is no such distinction between good and bad, right and wrong, in 縁.

   The monk of this temple would like to say that
   If you know that ‘I am alive here now because of various relationships, connections,’ and then pray, ‘Please allow me to have good relationships,’ that is the best way to be calm and to keep pure heart.
