Permanent Resident question

My wife has been working as a journalist in Japan for +10 years. I would like her to apply for permanent residency, but she refuses saying that it might be a lot of work due to her tax situation.

During all this time, she was getting paid into her account in her home country and paying all her income-related taxes there. Only in 2023 she worked part-time as an English teacher in Japan, and all those taxes are already paid and neat.

We don’t know if Japan will want us to inform them about her income and taxes abroad when considering my wife’s application.

For instance, when renewing her visa she would write something like “income taxes paid in the country of origin”, and have her visa renewed without problems.

I’ve searched on previous posts but unsurprisingly I couldn’t’t find anything similar to her case!

Any information will be highly appreciated! Thank you!

EDIT: Many mention that there’s tax evasion. There is not because we inform the tax office office every year that the company she works for is based outside Japan with no branches in the country, and both her salary and taxes are paid in her country of origin. If there was any issue we would’ve been informed of that years ago and that hasn’t been the case.
