Mercari Refund or Return?

I bought an item on Mercari and I received something entirely different.

I’m not sure what to do here or how to even escalate.

If it were Amazon, I’d just submit a request for a refund. But how do I navigate this from turning into a “he said vs he said” thing?

Do I return the item and get a full refund? Do I work this out with the seller who obviously scammed me?
