– Vacquer vs AZM delivered 100% on match quality/in ring work; may actually be my MOTN, as the two showed out and took some crazy bumps.
– Was really a good choice to have Narita beat Suzuki on his own; gives Ren that little extra push, showing that while he still is a cheater, he doesn’t need to rely on HOT all the time to get the win; my hope is Narita gets a shot at his OG mentor, Shibata, and gets his win back from WK.
– so damn good to see TMDK hold gold by the end of the night; Haste & Nicholls may be THE best tag team in NJPW at the moment, and can give the Strong tag belts more legitimacy (and hopefully they’ll be IWGP tag champs sooner than later); good to see Zack get the W over Riddle (seemingly sending Riddle on the way for now).
– Umino vs Perry was much better than what I was suspecting; lot probably had to do with the HEAT, bro, as the Chicago crowd was split on Perry; finishing stretch was damn good and the right man won.
– Darryl Jr.! good to see the swole son of Darryl (RIP) is over af; also, Hiromu vs Ali was a banger.
– absolutely loved the Riot Rules match; seeing Kidd bring out his fellow “Dogs” in Finlay and Connors was “Too Sweet”, as well as getting to see the legend KENTA do something more significant; of course Eddie brought out his blood brother Homicide (another absolute legend), and one of the oddest team ups with Cobb & TJP; can’t wait for Kingston vs Kidd.
– as much as I HATE the result from a personal standpoint, I have to say I really enjoyed Naito vs Moxley as a match, finish notwithstanding; you got Naito as disrespectful as can be, sitting in chairs in the crowd and hocking loogies at ol’ “Death Rider”.
