Bars/pubs where foreigners hang out in Tokyo?

I’m wondering about good places where English-speaking foreigners hang out.

Would be nice to visit places to talk to new people.

I’m familiar with Tasu-ichi and Rhythm Cafe in Shibuya, but they seem to be either overcrowded or empty these days.

  1. Depends on your income range. Do you like upper class socialite, or down to earth commoners?

  2. when i first went to shibuya to drink i found that Pyramid 55 was basically 99% foreigners. Met a british guy that lived in japan and an american who was travelling. think the place is run by a couple Brazilian dudes aswell. I think the best bet is to go somewhere that has a lot of bars and just wander around until you find the group you’re looking for.

  3. Aqua Cafe88 and Bar Acqua Old-Cafe in Shinjuku/Kabukicho area, pretty sure same owners and both near each other. There’s also another one right on the edge Kabukicho that seemed to be more local-centric and quiet but those are the two I frequented during my stay

  4. oslo brewing and mikkeller in shibuya but those are craft beer bars… vin vino, jollys, ebisu… any of the british pubs like footnik, mermaid, etc
