Hi all. I’ll be in Tokyo for a few days next month and I’d like to pick up fabric for a relative who quilts. Are fat quarters or anything like that available? I’d love to gift her anything silk or cotton in traditional prints. I’ll be in the Ginza area. Maybe Daiso or Donki have a crafts section? Any advice appreciated. Thanks!

I don’t know if fat quarters are a thing – but there’s a lot of fabric shops in Nippori I think.

Tomato has like 3 multistory buildings in Nippori Fabric town!
Nippori fabric town has a website where you can check out what shops are there, what they sell, and a map of the shops.
You will be able to get small cuts off of a bolt of fabric. I think you want 50cm . Nippori is the #1 place to look and there are over a dozen shops surrounding this area [https://maps.app.goo.gl/4kuSvH3XBngi97jH9](https://maps.app.goo.gl/4kuSvH3XBngi97jH9)
Home centers like Viva Home are also a great place to look. Home center might be worth a visit if you want lots of other types of shopping too, I bought a lot of cookware, incense, shampoo, sunscreen and all that there. Viva is slightly cheaper than donki for some of that too. [https://www.vivahome.co.jp/toyosu_svh/access/](https://www.vivahome.co.jp/toyosu_svh/access/)
All these are a great help! Thanks everyone!
Yuzawaya (a chain with outlets in many spots in Tokyo) is also good.
