Staying in Osaka and have a lot I want to do so trying to make my visit to Himeji a very short trip of pretty much just seeing the castle, and hopefully the Koko-en garden. I also don’t think going inside the castle is worth the hassle based on everything I’ve read (just doesn’t seem very interesting and will have long lines, especially since I’ll be there on a weekend). Just want to make sure I get a good view to the castle itself and surrounding grounds. Based on that is it feasible to book a bullet train departing 2 hours (could do 3 instead) after I arrive in Hemeji or will that be way too rushed? Also will I need to book a ticket or wait in lines to get great views on the outside of Himeji? Thank you!
