Volunteering for Children?

So, my niece (8 y/o F) is struggling with only-child syndrome. This is to say she is quite spoiled and selfish. Recently, she has been exhibiting many maladaptive behaviors. While her parents have sought professional help, I would like to recommend some volunteering opportunities for my niece to do with her parents. I know this is easily possible in America and I believe the experience can be quite gratifying and teach many wonderful things.

Is there such a thing in Japan? The family is located in Tokyo. I think working with children would be best, but my hope is that they can do something for disadvantageous populations likes orphans, the elderly, homeless, or refugees. Are there any organizations that partner/seek volunteers?

TIA!

Reposted because previous post was removed. I’m a current resident of Japan so this post is not breaking any rules.
