Hi, wanted some input on booking the Shinkansen during golden for Tokyo to Osaka.
We are a group of friends who will be arriving in Tokyo from both HND and NRT airport on May 3rd and then plan on taking the Shinkansen to Osaka for the day 1. Because we are arriving from different airports and different time, we are wondering if booking the Shinkansen during golden week is required (I am assuming yes). I understand the Nozomi train will be reserved only during golden week, but assume you can still buy the ticket at the station?
If booking in advance is very much recommended/required, any recommendations on how many hours in advance to book the Shinkansen from Airport landing from HND and NRT?
Also are there any differences in the car numbers?

Edit: I forgot to mention the latest airport arrival would be ~16:00 JST @ HND.
