Tried searching through the sub but couldn’t find anything concrete. Does anyone have recommendations for otc medication that helps with post nasal drip. Thanks in advance.

I’ve had post nasal drip constantly for years, to the point where it’s completely messed up my throat. Went for a doctor here and got given a combo of 3 meds: montelukast (which I’ve had in the UK before), some sort of allergy medicine and something else idk what it was. And it worked so well, problem is you have to go back every few weeks to get more stuff so I haven’t had it for a while. So I would recommend talking to a doctor if it’s a long term thing, but be prepared to have to make time out your schedule lol.
Some people already gave you advice on the medical side, but if you just developed nasal drip a while ago, please also check your home for mold.
Everytime I developed nasal drip I thought it was a cold/allergy/Corona/whatever. And everytime I found some new spot in my home, that I had not thought about before, had developed mold during rainy season/summer. 🙄
(It’s my 5th year in Japan so far and seems I figured out all the spots and how to avoid. No mold this year, yay!)
Claritin always works for me but it’s prescription here. Still cheap as hell.
Just remember in Japan, it’s often cheaper to go to a doctor and get prescription medicine then to buy OTC (and the prescription medicine works better). It’s completely the opposite of the US and took me a while to get used to that.
It’s just a hassle to go to the initial meeting with the doctor, but after that it’s usually just drop in quickly and get a new prescription. This applies to pretty much anything
I used to buy OTC medicine it became super expensive, I went to the ENT she gave me nose spray and I’ve never had the problem anymore and it’s pretty cheap and she gave me a 90 day supply of it too
Neti pot! Wash all that gunk out and you should be good for a few hours as you sleep.
Not being a smart ass, but what is pre nasal drip?

Yea, I also have same symptom just for weeks ago. Seemingly hay fever(花粉症 kahun-sho) come again. You can buy medicines at ドラッグストア. Depends on the type of drug, it makes you drowsy. It’ll help you a lot! good luck

Go to the doctor. It will probably be cheaper than buying medication over the counter. My doctor recommends rinsing my sinuses with saline. I’ve used [this](https://www.amazon.co.jp/705928003088/dp/B000RJGB5C/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=55AJVIN6B7U5&keywords=neilmed+%E9%BC%BB%E3%81%86%E3%81%8C%E3%81%84&qid=1661473885&sprefix=neil%2Caps%2C337&sr=8-4) for years. Just make sure to use warm water that has been boiled or use bottled water.
