Itinerary check | Nagano doubts

Hey travellers,

The day finally arrived, gonna catch one last flight from Korea to Osaka.

Almost everything is macro scheduled, I mean, don’t have any reservations besides hostels, suica card is ok, with some money already.

There’s just 1 slight detail (maybe 2) that i request yours advice?

This is my plan:

City Stays:

• Osaka: 4 days (April 16 to April 19)
• Spend time exploring Osaka and take day trips to Kurashiki and Kobe.

• Hiroshima: 2 days (April 20 to April 21)
• Explore Hiroshima and take a day trip to Miyajima Island.

• Kyoto: 4 days (April 22 to April 25)
• Visit major attractions in Kyoto and take a day trip to Nara.

• Kanazawa: 1 day (April 26)
• Explore Kanazawa, focusing on Kenrokuen Garden and the Higashi Chaya district.

• Nagano: 1 day (April 27)
• Visit Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park and explore the Nagano area.

• Tokyo: 5 days (April 28 to May 2)
• Use Tokyo as a base to explore the city and take day trips to Nikko and Hakone.

🙋🏻‍♂️ Question:

I am not totally convinced with the Kanazawa/Nagano part of the trip. I wanted to see a more natural/tradicional city besides the common Osaka, Kyoto, Tokyo. Initially planned for Takayama, but skipped because of the distance. Then Kanazawa appeared as good replacement.
It’s between Kyoto and Tokyo, which is ideally.
Then Jigokudani – is something I really wanted to do, but then the questions started.

Should I do 1 day Kanazawa and 1 day Nagano?
Should I travel straight K to Tokyo and then day trip to Jigokudani? Or 2 nights in Kanazawa and then Tokyo. Idea was trying to minimise moving with my bags.

🙋🏻‍♂️ Question:

Is there any possibility of watching a sumo event in Tokyo in the beginning of May?
