Does anyone recommend a particular domestic hotel points club, like Tokyu Stays new member system?
I travel a lot for work, anywhere from 30-90 nights a year domestic and international within Asia. I used to book most of my stays via Agoda but their points system has basically become worthless and for some reason their bookings have not been reliable (booked a hotel then get it cancelled an hour later) over the past 6 months.
Looking for mid range business hotels, close to stations. No APA hotels. Unfortunately staying regularly at InterConti etc is a bit out of the budget at this point.

I just use Hotels.com. You do get some discounts as well as reward nights after 10 stays or so.
My wife used a Marriott Bonvoy Amex for business expenses and got a ton of points which translated to a lot of stays in that hotel family, and she also did a platinum challenge to get status which translated into a ton of free food and drinks during those free stays, as well as some free upgrades to suites that went for 150,000 to 200,000 yen per night.
Rakuten points.
I usually use hotels.com through Rakuten Rebates. Hotels.com gives you 10% back for future stays, and Rakuten Rebates gives usually 1.5%, going higher during various campaigns
Hotels.com gives essentially 10% off (you get 1 free night every 10 you stay) plus they often have 20% discounts for members. Works across all kinds of brands.
