PR status and long term overseas assignment?

Got my Japan PR almost 2 years ago, bought a house in Tokyo and now company needs me to be stationed overseas for its business expansion. I should be coming back to Japan 2 – 3 times/year for business meetings. I am unclear on the following and hope someone with more knowledge can kindly help:

1. Unlike the United States and it’s green card holder requirements, I am under the impression that I do not need to maintain a minimum number of days of physical presence in Japan per year to maintain my PR status. Is this correct?

2. If above is true and I don’t need to be physically present, do I need to maintain an address in Japan? Reason I ask this is company thinks I should apply for “moving out” with my city ward office so I don’t need to pay the residence tax while I am stationed overseas. Also, I might rent out my house while I am overseas and I assume I need to apply for the moving out status so the tenant can use my home address for his/her juminhyo?

Thanks in advance for any insight this subreddit can provide!
