Teppanyaki and Yakiniku suggestions!

Hi all!

What would be your recommendations for Teppanyaki and Yakiniku recommendations in Tokyo and Kyoto, and maybe taking a lunch trip to Kobe?

Much like many others, I would like to try some top tier beef, however want to experience both sides of enjoying it (along with street food experiences I’m sure!), along with trying A5 Kobe or similar to have experienced it, and A4 or lower to be able to taste the juicy meatiness and not just the A5 utterly butteriness.

We will be in Tokyo and Kyoto. I’ve recently had to nix an overnight in Kobe from my itinerary however, totally worth taking a 30min train from Kyoto one day and spending a morning and teppanyaki lunch if worthwhile going straight to source.

I was looking at the Mouriya in Gion (along with Kobe branches), and looks amazing but also super expensive. However when looking at other well-rated non-touristy places, they are considerably cheaper, but potentially not A5 on the menu? As I said, I’d like to try A5 once, but also try other grades in the same teppanyaki dinner.

Then for yakiniku… As long as it’s good and tasty!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
