UPDATE: My google was acting weird and telling me odd times. There is a bus that leaves at 3:50 p.m. that hopefully I can make! Hopefully I can get out of customs and get my luggage and maybe get out cash before 3:50 p.m. then I can make the much earlier bus!
So I land on Friday, April 19 at Narita at 2:55 p.m. and I head to Osaka on Monday, April 22.
I Googled all the transportation options and the Narita Airport Shuttle Hotel East 21 that leaves Narita airport at 5:55 p.m. is the best option as it drops me off 3 minutes away from my hotel.
I wanted to do luggage transfer to Osaka as I was told by Yamoto when I contacted them that Saturday night, April 20 is the cut off time if I wanted my luggage in Osaka on Monday, April 22. This was mainly to avoid carrying large luggage on the train, train station and still have to walk to my hotel with it.
However, if the Limo bus is only 3 minutes away from my hotel, I don’t mind keeping the luggage with me and just getting it sent out on Saturday night after I do a bit of shopping in Tokyo. But obviously I land quite early and would have 2 hours to kill if I wanted to entertain the idea of catching the 5:55 p.m. bus.
My question is…
1. What was your experience like with customs and immigration? Can it take a while? I honestly hope it takes a bit for me to deboard the plane at this point. I need the stamp or sticker on my passport anyways for the JR Setouchi train pass I bought, so I will need to do the in-person line or do the QR code but ask someone for the sticker.
2. I need to get cash out of the ATM. I heard there’s a 7-11 inside Terminal 1 that I could get it from.
3. I will be using the Suica on my Apple Pay so that’s covered.
4. I will need to get my checked luggage too.
5. Is there anything I should also consider doing before leaving the airport?
Is it ridiculous to wait 3 hours just so I can catch this bus? I have lots of time on Friday and Saturday and I’m traveling solo, so I can do anything I want and not worry about time.
EDIT: I don’t think people are understanding what I’m asking. I want to know if there’s stuff I can do at the airport to make the 5:55 p.m. bus as I know I have 3 hours from my 2:55 p.m. landing. Even if I’m done with all my tasks at the airport, it’s going to be like 4 p.m. and I”ll have another 2 hours still! If it seems too ridiculous to do this, then I’ll just stick to my plan to transfer my luggage and live out of my carry on until I get to Osaka.
