Battery of my old no longer used smartphone got swollen so started to look for a way to dispose it. According to what I’ve discovered on the Internet I cannot dispose it in a such state as as a “regular” hazardous waste and the most of articles are pointing towards either electronics shops or waste collecting companies.
I tried to google them, but the ones I found explicitly state that they do not collect swollen batteries as it’s not allowed to ship them (due to obvious reasons).
Did anyone have the same issue? Any recommendations would be much appreciated.
P.S. Meanwhile I placed phone in a steel box filled with dirt so don’t worry regarding the safety 🙂
