Green Car tickets on JR lines — Pasmo works!

This afternoon, our family was returning from Kamakura to Tokyo on the JR Yokosuka Line (JO) and we were able to use our Pasmo cards to buy seats in the Green Car by using the machines on the platform in Kamakura. After using our Pasmo cards to add the 1000 yen “ticket” to each individual card, we boarded the train and then used each card to select specific seats but holding the card to the green Suica sensor above each of our prospective seats. Empty seats should have a red light above them when you board, and once you scan your card on the sensor the light should turn green to indicate that you have successfully reserved the seat.

I’m posting because I did some digging around in this subreddit last night but didn’t find anything directly on point about whether only Suica cards could be used to do this.
So we tried it with our Pasmo cards today and it totally works, and for that reason I thought I’d drop a quick note here for folks who are searching in the future.

If this is basic info that every traveler already knows, my apologies. 👍🏻🇯🇵😀
