Hello, I am trying to get paid for a job into my Japan Post Yucho bank account. It is from a Hong Kong company so the payment will be an international remittance. The HK company cannot use Wise.
I now know that Japan Post will only allow a payment in EUR or USD via an intermediary bank, after trying a payment in JPY and this being rejected and returned to the sender with no explanation.
I am asking for anyone that has been paid in USD, what kind of fees did you incur through the intermediary bank? What was the exchange rate like? Any other unexpected fees? This will help to agree on a conversion rate for the USD with my employer.
I’ve read the Wiki and have seen the conversion rate as of April 2021, but wanted to check if anyone has any most recent figures since then.
