  1. At least it’s a public facility instead of just more tower mansions. It does make me sad that the Giants will likely be moving in and the Tokyo Dome era will be over

  2. There are rumors that the Giants’ home stadium will be relocated to a new stadium in Tsukiji, and a tower condominium will be built on the site of the current Tokyo Dome.

  3. It’s the perfect place to do it. Near the water and the hamarikyu gardens. People can enjoy a wide range of stuff. There’s no point leaving that old trash there given how scarces large pots of lands in those areas.

  4. Next step is when the amakudari get the jobs to re-write all of those textbooks which compare everything to the size of Tokyo Dome.

  5. Copy-paste the same garbage everywhere. Poor Japanese people.. they deserve better.

  6. Didn’t they recently knock down the nearby ferris wheel area at Odaiba to build a stadium too? Wtf is going on.

  7. total waste:

lots of tourists went to old tsukiji

NO ONE goes or enjoys the new tsukiji

NO ONE will go to some generic stadium or restaurants in new tsukiji

  8. Are we supposed to be more concerned with a new soccer stadium than losing the fish market? I’m more concerned about what’s leaving not what’s replacing it.

  9. Great, now I have to deal with baseball crowds the multiple times a year I go to the hospital down there. As if Tokyo needs another fucking stadium to add to the 8 we already have.
