What are the best “don’ts” to do when travelling to Japan for the first time?

You know, things you tried or did that didn’t go as planned and were rather disappointing but you would end up laughing about it later on.

Of course I’m going to do a lot of the fun tuff you’ve all been mentioning in the FAQs and threads but I’m also curious about doing some of the underwhelming/standard stuff too.

I’m not sure if I am explaining it right but I don’t want to have a perfect trip full of legendary events only. I want to do some normal or even boring stuff to. Like getting to see a lot of non-tourist stuff in addition to the tourist places. I’d like to have a few bad memories that I can laugh about in a few years, sometimes I find those are just as memorable.
