we used our JR pass and scanned into the JR line at Hakata, transferred at kashii (it was on the next platform and we didnt see scanners anywhere), and then went to the end of the line at seaside park (saitozaki). on the way to kashii a lady checked our JR pass but this didn’t happen on the second train to seaside park.
when we made it to saitozaki there was no scanner for the jr pass like I have used elsewhere but just the IC scanner.
I was under the impression that JR pass would work on this JR line but now unsure and I can’t find this particular question answered anywhere. did we screw something up or are we fine?
I have a feeling since we never scanned out we might have an issue next time we try to scan in for our next JR route
