Are Visa renewls taking a long time for anyone? I remember last year it took a while, but can’t remember how long exactly.
Is it a compliment when people tell me that I have a 濃い face?
We are getting new neighbors – some people bought a large empty plot of land next to ours. They are very DIY and are basically developing the land themselves with the help of some contractors.
Before they bought the land it was barren for decades, so we do not know the exact boundary line between ours and their land. And we did not really care to find out since the land was completely overgrown. Well now is it all being cleaned, and flattened etc.
We have asked them to let us know once they measure the line and they have agreed. However they are now happily developing the land, including the edges (their take on the edge) of the land and have not to my knowledge established where the legal edge of the land is, nor have they informed us of it.
I was of the understanding that buyers of land are legally requested to establish the formal area of their land at an early stage before developing it and also inform neighbours when the measurement is being done. I am fine to go ask them again but want to ask if there is any legal requirement for officially establishing land area of if that is arbitrary? Anyone knows please – thanks.
The above said, I want to continue to move towards having a good neighbour relationship with them but also am of the opinion that clear boundaries are a foundation of a good relationship lol.
Anyone have a recommendation for a less known onsen town within 4 hour drive of Kansai? Not looking for popular like Kinosaki, something more like Dorogawa would be lovely. Thank you
I like the blades packed with Schick Cork https://item-shopping.c.yimg.jp/i/n/hikariyashop_4891228311971-001 but don’t like the cork handle. All other 5-layer Schick blades are the hydro ones with hole in the middle and these are not as good. Is there any other handle besides the cork one good with the cork blades?
This is SUCH a dumb question haha but is okonomiyaki popular in Tokyo/outside of Kansai?
I’m trying to find a reply by u/starkimpossibility where he mentions what you need to do after you change your job (while on a work visa), such as documents you need, informing immigration, etc. But he also made a post before about the “timing” of switching jobs to avoid paperwork with insurance or pension.
Anyone know a way to find it? Or know of any resources?
Any tips on negotiating appliances? Looking to buy ACs, washing machine, and fridge. Possibly a robovacuum (although Amazon might be cheaper).
Usually my company does my year-end tax adjustments, but last year I missed the deadline and had to do them myself. I sent them in via mail in March. I am worried now though, as I still have not heard back from my tax office. Should I have included some kind of return envelope? I have not received any money yet. Do you think not hearing back means that I did something wrong? Thanks in advance for any answers.
Immigration e-notification question
Hello everybody.
I am currently working a few part time jobs, and I had a question about filling out the e-notification system for immigration.
I filled it out for my first job just fine but I was wondering for my second job what do I put in the category of former company/address because I’m not leaving the first job.
If anyone could help me with this it would be appreciated!
Is it “harassment” if I say behind someone’s back that (if they don’t stop doing whatever it is that they are doing) they will go bald?
Is there a sight that can track phone prices? I’m wanting to buy an android (looking at google flip) but with that price tag I’ll need to wait for a sale.
I am a freelancer and I have just received a request for me to receive advance payment from an agency client in Japan. As it’s the end of the fiscal year, they would like to pay me a large lump sum and just deduct the amount I earn from them each month from this amount, i.e. if I make 50,000 yen that amount will be deducted, until the total is covered for.
This is a long-term client who I have been working for many years and have a lot of trust in (and I don’t expect work from them to dry up suddenly – this deposit will certainly be “paid off” in a matter of months), but it’s the first time I’ve ever received a request like this. Obviously, there’s some benefit for them doing this, but is there anything that I should be worried about on my end as the receiver of such a deposit payment?
So, I’m heading to Europe for golden week and my work is requesting a somewhat detailed itinerary for my trip. I’ve gone overseas before, but only to my home country. Any particular reason why now they care about where I’m going?
Are there any other employment options for someone with basic Japanese (JLPT N3) that isn’t English teaching or recruiting? I’ve done both and they weren’t for me; I have 10 total years of office experience across the UK and Japan.
I am changing Jobs right now and using my paid vacation days until the end of this month. Will start at the new job beginning of next month.
Received my last paycheck from my current company and it is less than the usual amount. Due to some insurance premiums and my resident tax is being twice as much this month (健康保険料、厚年保険料、住民税)is this normal?
