My wife’s always on me because she says our balconies a jungle and during the warmer months she barely has room to hang out the laundry haha. I’ve got a bit of a tree growing obsession without the needed space.
It’s a mess right now but not nearly as bad as a few years ago.
A few of the plants I have.
Blackberry (just started flowering)
Cranberries
Saffron
Sakura bonsai (always blooms late, still has some blossoms)
Northers red oak, Quercus rubra (grew from acorn)
Black walnut, Juglans nigra (grown from nut)
Shag bark hickory, Carya ovata (grown from nut)
Giant sequoia Sequoiadendron giganteum (grown from seed)
Norway spruce, Picea abies (grown from seed, my attempt at growing a Christmas tree but looks like a bush at 4 years old)
Mizunara oak, Quercus crispula (thought it would be interesting to have one because they are used for Japanese whiskey barrels)
Anyone else enjoying overloading your balcony with plants?
