I stupidly waited until the last minute (3 days to be precise) to look into buying a JR Pass from the official website.
It states that I need to be “visiting Japan from abroad for sight-seeing, under the entry status of “temporary visitor.” which is 15 or 90 days. Problem is, I haven’t applied for anything official to back this up, I’m going for less than 2 weeks, but I’m from the UK, so shouldn’t I get a temporary visitor stamp and be eligible for the JR Pass?
Also it says then payment will be by credit card. Is this just a bad translation? I don’t have a credit card I use Visa Debit. Anyone used the official website who can tell me please?
Any advice would be appreciated, I messaged them but don’t know if they will reply in time.
