Went to the doctor because I didn’t have my insurance card. Can I get a refund for my visit over a month later?

EDIT: \*\*\* Went to the doctor and I didn’t have my insurance card.

In short, I paid in full for my treatment and medicine from the doctor. I had to suddenly go to the USA for about a month, and during that time my insurance card was finally sent to me. Now I have my insurance card and I’m back in Japan. Can I still get a refund for my visit to the doctor which was over a month ago?

  1. Yes, as long as you kept the receipt, but you need to go to your insurance not the doctor for the reimbursement.

Your city office if you’re not covered through your company or HR if you are.
