FYI, I will be working in a Japanese company close to Gaiemmae station.
Since my internship lasts less than 6 months, I was planning to stay in a shared house because my pay is low. I should be fine regarding the budget but I was hoping 100 000 yen/month should do the deal (I’m clearly not looking for something fancy/big or anything, I just want a place where I can sleep and have a private room if possible). I can still expand my budget if needed, I just wanted to hear your thoughts on that.
First of all, do you guys have any preferences towards shared houses providers such as OakHouse or SakuraHouse or anything else ?
As for the location, do you think it’s worth living close to my work office ? Or should I try to broaden my search areas to reduce the prices ?
Also, what do you think is better in Tokyo, get a bike ASAP and use it to commute or is it fine if I just use public transportations but they might be crowded at rush hours ?
Lastly, do you guys recommend any locations/neighborhoods and why ? Maybe they might be a little expensive but really calm, or affordable and very lively.
