Hello everyone!
TLDR: Is there anything I have to watch out for in particular when getting hired by a recruitment agency?
Before I start, here’s a few facts about me: 21 (f), German citizen and currently living in Germany, Japanese about N2 and soon-to-be graduate with a bachelor’s in Japanese Studies and Media and Communication Studies. I’m currently job hunting, which includes trying to land a job in Japan to see how it goes (if I got an offer, I would move).
So far, the biggest challenge has been to find companies that are willing to hire foreign workers from abroad. If I already had a working visa (就労ビザ) and was residing in Japan, it would be easier. But I’m only planning to move to Japan after graduating in August at the earliest.
Now, I’ve found jobs that I’m interested in and that are managed by a recruiting agency (Fellowship). I’ve had two interviews with them and they would sponsor my working visa while helping me find a job until I come to Japan. The pay isn’t amazing, but I can definitely manage to live on the expected salary.
Has anyone here ever gone through the process of getting hired by a recruiting agency while living abroad? The jobs in question are in the field of tourism and the agency is specializing in helping Japanese citizens find a job in Japan where they can utilize their language skills and study abroad experience. Therefore, they are very fond of my language skills, especially considering that I’m fluent in English and a German native speaker.
Thank you for every piece of advice!!
