I live in a small, old and cheap apartment I somehow snagged for ¥47,000 a month. Nice place. Just enough space for 1 person to comfortably live, but the bathroom isn’t ventilated. A friend of mine told me they are required by law to have ventilation in the bathroom. It’s really a huge problem without it, as the bathroom is always wet even with a shower curtain and the shower window left open, and the moisture creeps into the apartment. I can’t keep toilet paper inside the bathroom, because it just gets ruined if someone takes a shower, and there’s already mold forming. I’m very worried about the summer.
Yesterday I went to the company and told them I need ventilation. They said they’d look into it, and then sent me an email saying they can’t install it because of the construction required. Then said “Just use the kitchen fan” which is absurd because it’s outside the bathroom. They also advised I use the air circulation function on my AC unit, which doesn’t really do anything to help. Please help. What should I do?
