I am in the process of interviewing for jobs in Japan. I’ve interviewed with a few dispatch companies recently and got fairly far in the application process with a couple. One just gave me a salary breakdown, which of course was different from the job advert.
200,000 a month. Two months unpaid because of vacations. Breaks down to under 170,000 yen a month when you factor in those deductions. That’s before tax and rent.
With the costs of starting up (moving and accommodation costs), would someone actually likely LOSE money over a year of employment on that salary? I’m a little shocked honestly. Surely one could literally end up trapped working a job like that? Never able to save and move on. Compare that to your basic eikaiwa salary of say 250000 EVERY month, and you’re making 80000 a month more for an entry level eikaiwa.
Just some thoughts and observations….
