Hello all! We are planning a 22 day trip in Japan in late October and into November. We will be in Tokyo for 3 days then flying to the Philippines for a week. We are returning to Osaka for 6 days. Followed by returning to Tokyo for the remainder of our trip. We enjoy the big city but don’t want too much redundancy in our locations. We aren’t big into nightlife; maybe 2-3 nightlife ventures for the trip. We enjoy nature, cultural events and attractions; my wife is vegan so food/restaurant selection is important as well. Furthermore, we like to be centrally located as possible. Kyoto appears to be more inline with our tastes. We want to spend a day in Osaka and Nara. Osaka appears to be more similar to Tokyo (bustling city). However, Kyoto seems pretty big as well. Am I correct about the vibe/feel of these cities? Should we stay in Kyoto and day trip to Osaka and Nara? Or should we break up our stays between Osaka and Kyoto? Any suggestions and options are greatly appreciated.
