Hey guys, I’ve been planning to go to a neko Cafe in kyoto since I’m visiting Japan and absolutely love cats.
Ive been google and researching for a while now, and noticed that a lot of cafes seem to acquire kittens that mysteriously disappear once they get too old, only for new kittens to join.
Animal rights seems to be absolutely horrible in Japan and I’ve tried to find rescue cat cafes so I don’t support animal abuse. It is however hard to detect where the cats come from, and all the ones I’ve found online that actually seem to be shelter cat cafes, have already permanently closed due to corona or other issues.
Are there any rescue cat cafes still open in Kyoto which I can visit on a weekday?
I would be incredible thankful for any tips, since I find it hard to differentiate between “normal” cat cafes and rescued ones.
I don’t mind if the cafe has strict rules for petting (actually, I would appreciate it as a sign for good treatment).
Greetings and thanks in advance!
