My apartment is non-smoking (in contract), but the apartment directly next door is allowed smoking (agent told me after I raised the issue).
Dude just moved in recently and smokes every night at 9pm and in a.m, smoke comes in through extractor fan to my apartment and stinks it out.
Have asked him politely twice to not smoke under extractor fan, as it come in my room (that’s what he is doing as I can hear it). He Obvs doesn’t care and still does it (it’s his pad so kind of his prerogative).
Asked the estate company who say nothing they can do unless it’s in common area I.e corridor (each unit is leased separately). Although it is now stoning in corridor too, and can smell as step out elevator.
Any suggestions? Anything anyone knows of that can seal the fan up to stop the smoke coming through (tried a few layers of the cleaning pad things, doesn’t work)? Also tried putting my extractor fan on when I smell it, but I’m not always home at same time so just come back to the stink.
Super annoying as I love the neighborhood and my pad but may have to move out as it’s stinking the place out and just shitty.
