I think it is possible to create an SBI account directly applying to them or through Mitsui Sumitomo bank if you have the latter.
The first question is, why does Mitsui Sumitomo promote SBI? If I understand correctly, the account is created either at Sumishin SBI net bank or at SBI shinsei bank.
Second question is, besides getting some v-points, are there any benefits of opening the account through Mitsui Sumitomo bank?
Are there any advantages in applying directly at SBI?
Third question is, what are the pros and cons of Sumishin SBI net bank vs. SBI shinsei bank?
