Hi Everyone. I have been looking all over the internet and really cant determine if the JR pass is worth it for my upcoming trip in May. We are landing in Tokyo then heading out to the following cities in this order – Takayama – Kanazawa – Kyoto – back to Tokyo. I know the JR pass works well from Kyoto to Tokyo from a previous trip, but I believe I may have to buy upgraded or incur additional fees for the Tokyo-Takayama-Kyoto portion. Any input will be greatly apprecaited.
