– the core four of CHAOS are Ishii, Goto, Yano, and Yoshi Hashi.
– the three main things these guys have in common are: they’re kind of old, they’re good at this little thing called wrestling, and none of them have been World Champions.
– the four of them point this out, and with the losses of BOTH former leaders and Aces, it’s time to move on from CHAOS… into stability.
– the four of them call out Shota Umino, and ANOINT HIM AS THEIR NEW LEADER !! A leader of a new faction.
– old men say how none of them ever held the big shiny gold, but Shota can, and under their mentorship, it’s guaranteed.
– keeping up with his gimmick of adopting moves, Shota gets four new moves into his arsenal that the four legends passed onto him. They’re obvious tributes to them, but Shota does his own variants.
– Shota coins the new faction Star Riders, and adds the returning Kiyomiya and Oiwa into the fray. YOH stays in the group, because he fits the whole boy band vibe, and the four CHAOS remnants get added as the pin eaters/mentors of the next generation.
– the name Star Riders fits perfectly both in the aesthetic sense, and how these old guys are leeching off the new generation lol, but in a good way. Also it’s a tribute to Moxley.
– this way, Shota gets the oh-so-needed character development, and a faction to watch his back, because why would you be a lone wolf ?
