First time in Japan for 3 weeks itinerary feedback request (Hiroshima-Tokyo)

This is my first time in Japan, going solo for 3 weeks early June. I am looking to do fairly relaxed trip, with time to see things, but also not have too many different places to stay at, but also read books in parks, wander around and immerse in local area, as much as possible for a tourist.

Itinerary plan:

Day 1: 1pm Arrival at Hiroshima, customs, check-in, eat something, walk around, recover from a long trip

Day 2: Hiroshima: peace museum, memorials, etc

Day 3: Whole day at Miyajimacho

Day 4: Forward suitcase to Osaka, take early morning ferry to Matsuyama – one night, see the castle

Day 5: Morning train to Imabari, start cycling Shimamai Kaido, spend night at one of the islands

Day 6: Cycle to Onomichi, spend one night there

Day 7: Explore Onomichi, activate local rail pass – take train to Himeji, see castle, take train to Osaka, to use as a base for 2 nights

Day 8-9: Two day trips to Koyo from Osaka

Day 10: Nara day trip

Day 11-12: Enjoy Osaka

Days 13-14: No plans. Where should I add those 2 days? Something on the way to Tokyo? Is there a good reason to spend more time in Hiroshima?

Day 15-22: Train to Tokyo, enjoy various things, do shopping, eat food, fly back.

Some questions:

1. There are 2 local rail passes that I see: 7-day Setuchi area pass and 5-day Kansai-Hiroshima pass. How much different they will be? Which one is better for my trip, if any? I don’t think I will be using shinkansen until I take the train from Osaka to Tokyo.

2. Is Shimanami Kaido not too hot in early June?

3. Is there a list or map of things popular on IG an TikTok, to know which places to actively avoid?
