My husband and I will be flying in and out of Haneda Airport and will be in Japan for a total of 9 days/nights. Our plan right now is pretty loose, but we are hoping to visit the Mt. Fuji area (or the Fujiyoshida Sengen Shrine)—as well as Kyoto. We plan to spend our last few days exploring Tokyo itself before we depart. Is it reasonable to want to visit Tokyo, Mt. Fuji, Kyoto, and/or somewhere else in this timeframe, spending a day or two in each place?
Also would LOVE to know of any hidden gems that you can recommend? Maybe some hidden town, lesser-known site, or secret hot spring off the beaten path that would fit into our itinerary? We are just overwhelmed with options and obviously don’t have as much time as we’d like. Any advice is much appreciated!
