I am very much excited for my first trip to Japan (Although I still have to wait 6 months). Trip is in end of november beginning of december. I will be travelling in a group of 2.
As I am anxious and want to book hotels/bnbs in advance, I made an itinerary draft based on the information I got watching tons of videos.
I don’t have any specific place I want to visit more than other just want a general view of my itinerary, as this is a draft I will be more likely do changes to daily activities rather than places in the future.
I arrive to Osaka airport on november 22 and it goes:
Nov 22 day 1, arrive 11:15 to Osaka. Have early lunch in the city -> Travel to Himeji to spend the rest of the day and overnight there
day 2 ->Travel to Hiroshima to spend the day overnight in Hiroshima
day 3 -> go to Itsukushima for the day overnight in Hiroshima again
(I very much consider adding a few extra morning hours in Himeji and/or hiroshima in case I like the city more than expected)
day 4 -> go to tokyo as early as posible
day 5/6/7/8 will all be in tokyo. I will take one of these days to go to Kawaguchiko, but want to see the clouds forecast around the time (How early do I have to book bus tickets for the day?, I want to know if I need to predict clouds or I have some time to check). Are these days enough in Tokyo? Would you take more?
day 9 -> Travel to Kamakura and Yokohama and spend the night there
day 10/11/12 -> Travel and stay in Kyoto
day 13 -> Day trip to Nara, possibility of staying night there, is it a good option or rather spend the night in Osaka?
day 14/15/17 -> Stay in Osaka. Too many days? I have seen usually 2 are enough, one of this days I will use for general shopping + Acuariums so would be only 2 days for city.
day 16 -> I skipped this before, but would use it to day trip to Arima Onsen for a relaxing end of trip.
How easy is to find in any city the lockers for lugagge?
Do I have to book shinkansen tickets in advance? I read no but want to confirm
I will be travelling by shinkansen btw!
Apologies for the messy post I have been gathering info and watching many videos the last couple of days.
I take any recommendations.
