we are planning our first Japan trip: 3 weeks in November 2024. It would be great to get some feedback and help with our planning.
**Nov 1-4:**
* Arrive at Fukuoka Airport in the evening. Get rental car and drive to Karatsu.
* Karatsu Kunchi Festival & Saga daytrip
* Maybe experience rice harvesting with our host on his farm.
**Nov 4-6**
* Nagasaki
**Nov 6-8**
* Kurokawa Onsen
**Nov 8-10**
* Visit Takachiho on the way to Kagoshima
* Kagoshima
I really want to visit Kyushu, it seems to be a great part of Japan and and good region to start. Do you have any recommendations for this part? We have a car so we are flexible.
From here i am still unsure what option is better.
* **Option 1: Travel by train via Hiroshima & stay a night on Miyajima.**
* would you recommend to stay 1 night on the island?
* Is Hiroshima still recommended if we visited already Nagasaki and the museums?
* **Option 2: Skip Hiroshima. Fly directly to Osaka and spend more time in Kansai.**
* We have to drop off our rental car at the airport in Kagoshima which is quite far away from the city train station. So taking a flight would fit better.
* We are not sure yet where to stay in Kansai. Kyoto or Osaka.. or both?
* We would have 5 days left , would you stay longer in this region or add another part
* e.g. the japanese alps?
* Kumamo Kodo Trekking (after koyasan)
* Mount Fuji

* 1 day in Hiroshima
**Nov 12-13**
* 1 night in Miyajima
**Nov 13-16**
* Take train to Kyoto in the morning
* 2 days in Kyoto
**Nov 16-17**
* 1 night in Koyasan (temple stay)
**Nov 17-19**
* 2 nights in Osaka
**Nov 19-24**
* 4 days in Tokyo.
* Explore city & 1-2 daytrips
* Fly back to Germany
# Option 2:
**Nov 10-13**
* Take flight to Osaka in the morning
* Train to Kyoto
* 2 days Kyoto
**Nov 13-14**
1 night in Koyasan (temple stay)
**Nov 14 – 19 ???**
* Not sure yet how to spend these days.
**Nov 19-24**
* 4 days in Tokyo.
* Explore city & 1-2 daytrips
* Fly back to Germany
