Chances as a German (sign language) teacher?

Hello there!

My Name is Max and I am currently 26 y/o. I am a german special education Student, focused on deaf and hard of hearing student. That means I have an A2 Qualification in German Sign language (spoiler: this is pretty worthless in Japan since sign languages in different countries are far from the same) and I am currently finishing my masters thesis.

Once that’s finished I thought about going to Japan and teaching there for a while, before returning to finish my Referendariat (it’s required to be a state official teacher here in Germany. If you don’t do it you can still be a teacher, but you will get paid worse).

Will my plan be fruitful? Or are there too many German teacher in Japan? I read the subreddit a bit and it seems the pay ain’t that hot.

Give me your thoughts!

Max
