Restrictions against Cuban cigars.

Having given up cigars a few years back, I decided out of the blue to pick one up today at Zippo. What a shock I got when I was told that they are no longer available in Japan. Anyone know exactly why? I can guess the general reasons.

  1. They are not available in Japan because there is a huge shortage worldwide. The surface cultivated in Cuba has drastically decreased in the recent years and the marketing policy of HABANO SA is to promote the very high end cigars. The prices gone crazy within a year.

It’s time for you to either try to explore new world cigars (some are very good actually like RoMa Craft), indulge yourself with pipe smoking or just stop smoking…

You can also try online stores, especially Switzerland based ones, but those which were legit and cheap (like Cigarsofcuba.com) have almost no stock.
It is perfectly legal to import cigars and tobacco products in general, and the import duties are actually reasonable (it’s actually cheaper than buying the same cigars locally even after import duties and taxes paid…).
