I’ll be in Tokyo for a full seven days (after two days in Osaka and three days in Kyoto), and I’m looking for advice on where to stay. I’m a late 30’s guy who will be traveling alone, so I can be pretty flexible. I’m thinking Ginza West or Ropponghi to put me close to Shibuya/Shinjuku for going out and also close to some more touristy things that I want to hit during my stay (e.g. Senso-Ji, Tokyo National Museum, TeamLab Planets, Ginza). I guess my main concern is how difficult it might be to get back from Shibuyu/Shinkuju after a night of drinking or how far staying in those areas (Shinjuku/Shibuyu) might be after a day of touristing. Any thoughts or recommendations on that Ginza West plan/any recommendations on places to stay generally?
Further context, I’m well traveled, live in a major US city, so I’m generally comfortable relying on public transit/walking. Also, I’m currently against the idea of moving hotels mid-trip to get the best of both worlds.
