  1. Being the first woman at anything is tough, now imagine doing it in Japan. Wishing her all the best, there are lots of expectations on her leadership! 

  2. Hasn’t Japan had multiple female mayors and other women in positions of high political power? I feel like the real surprise is when someone below the age of 106 is elected to a top position.

  3. Maybe she should go full Jeff Smisek and appear on every inflight videos (minus the corruption part, hopefully).

  4. I agree they shouldn’t be suprised. but it’s Japanc so you have to expect it to some degree
