Hello, I am considering planning my next trip to Japan so that we can visit this event. I’d like to ask how difficult it is to get to the front to have a clear view on the procession? I have read that there are also paid sitting places but also that the whole procession walks 2 km long route. This sounds that there must be plenty of space along the road.
I guess there are some good places for photos, such as near the Palace etc. I don’t really want to spend hours just waiting there for a good photo spot. Just having a clear view would suffice, anywhere along the road. So Is the whole way of the procession packed with people in advance or is it possible to just come like half an hour before and find a place right at the road somewhere without people in front?
