I applied for a visa switch (PhD Student -> Spouse) on March 21 and it’s been almost 6.5 weeks since application. Immigration asked for simple tax documents from my wife on/about April 20. But haven’t heard back from immigration since. I’m wondering if I should call immigration to ask for status.
Official websites say an average of 30 days (with additional documentation time). Mine is taking well over 45 days now.
Is there a big backlog?
