Rejecting English Teaching Job for Eikaiwa After Signing Contract and Sending Documents

Hi everyone! I am wondering if anyone has rejected/reneged on an English teaching job before. I am currently living in the U.S. and in the interview process for some corporate jobs in the U.S. (my degree is in business) but have always wanted to live in Japan, which led me to apply to this English teaching job. I have received the offer for the teaching position but unfortunately have to sign the contract for the position in the next two weeks before I can hear back from other job offers (they won’t extend the deadline). What would happen if I signed the contract and sent my documents for the visa but later rejected the teaching job before going to Japan? Are there any financial penalties? I am fine with being blacklisted from this specific eikaiwa, I would just like to know the consequences. Thank you!
