I have been trying to register for Smart Ex for 3 weeks with no luck. I have read here and other places about the issues with registering for Smart Ex. I also tried to buy tickets for the Nozomi Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto from the JR Central site, but it just sends me to the Smart Ex loop of infinite frustration. Is there another way to buy tickets? Should I just pay the extra fees for Klook or Ninja? Or should I just wait and buy them once I arrive? My frustration level makes me just want to wait and buy all of my tickets the day I arrive. I’m staying by Shinjuku station so I assume most of the lines have offices there.
