Among all the I-got-harassed-by-the-police and It-never-happened-to-me posts (I am in the latter group) I have noticed a trend where people with dreadlocks say they get searched all the time. I came out of Shinjuku Station today, right across from Alta, and saw three cops digging through the pockets of a guy with dreads. He looked as if he may have been Japanese or possibly half. After finding nothing of interest, they sent him on his way.
